Bobcats Vs. Pixiebobs
Pixiebobs are NOT a hybrid breed.
You'll clearly see that we aim to replicate the Muzzle Shape, the Deep Brow, Ear tufts, large Fleshy paws, chunky Legs and all the markings of the spotty coat Bobcat (Lynx Rufus). Again is another comparison on Bobcat (on the right) and Pixiebob, this time Alessi (on the left).
Brow lines become straighter and more defined as a Pixiebob matures, and it will always be more prominent in a male than a female. This also rings true for the bobcat as well, as shown in the Bobcat kitten (top left) and the adult shown (bottom right).

Blue Bobbies and Blue Bobcats
The Pixiebob standards define that they should resemble the Bobcat. Everyone strives to get the Rufus (Ruddy) colour in the coat of their cats to some degree. I too am very fortunate to have an extremely brick red girl and 2 boys with very strong Red Base coats.
