Buffy of Stone Island was given to Carol Ann Brewer by a man in Myrtle Point, Oregon, who said that "Ol' Stumpy comes down off the mountain every year and breeds the females in the barn. And every year I have to throw them in the river because they won't leave my chickens and ducks alone!" Carol Ann Brewer, January 2003... 

So Carol Ann took a young female who was heavily spotted, had white feet with black spots on the bottoms, and a very long tail. Although Buffy looked very domestic, she chose to believe what the farmer had told her and after breeding Buffy to Stone Island's McDuff, Carol Ann saw that her intuition was right.. and the farmer's story was true.

Buffy produced the gorgeously wild Stone Island's Wee Lassie, a cat unlike any she had had so far!

Here's an article based on the belief Pixie & Maggie were 1/2 bobcat.  Thereby the fractions are created based upon this assumption.

It reads “These cats are propagated in the pattern set by the ancient Arabian horse breeders; with the dam lines being of the utmost importance.  Petey daughters of the beautiful Pixie and Maggie, were both half-bloods, and are the foundation stock at StoneIsland. We have 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8 bobcat blood cats with the balance being Manx. We believe the Manx cat to be an excellent choice for hybridising because of the similarities between the breeds. What we are achieving after 8 years of breeding carefully is consistent beauty, size, intelligence, and bobcat characteristics, including the elusive bobcat tall.  We take our cats very seriously here at Stone Island!”
