Photo Update - Our Future Stud Boy Wyatt

EDIT: We didn’t keep Wyatt, instead we placed littermate Nicky into a program with a kitten back.  The kitten returned to us was Doktari Seashells of Totallycoastal.

Movieclip - Slideshow of Shenona & Leon

The future King of (Totallycoastal) Leon..  Shown here with his queen Shenona.  They are already getting on like a house on fire.  we have high hopes for this pairing in 2014 of these 2 wonderful longhair bobtail Pixie-bobs.  Watch this slideshow to see just how alike they are.  Leon has the upper hand on the wild face but other than that they are like two peas in a pod.

Movieclip - Totallycoastal White Sands 5.5 months

Watch this slide show of our home bred kitten (5.5m)Wyatt.  He is son of Linsey x Rider and I think you'll see a lot of family resemblance. We aim to show this boy kitten this year.

Historic Reference Photo & Ancestor - Totallycoastal Volcanic Sands (AKA Nicky)

This nice boy kitten is going to a show breeding home.  Nicky was born in June 2013, he is filling out lovely and has quite a character.  Very loving, phased by nothing (bomb-proof), and to top it all he has strong type.  Son of Rider and Linsey this is no big surprise, both parents are easy going and typey.  We are looking forward to seeing how he fares in the show ring, and to the kittens he has with his lovely queens.

Movieclips - Nicky (Totallycoastal Volcanic Sands)

NICKY NOW HAS A PLACEMENT

This is the perfect Nicky taking a leading role, and a walk on part by Wyatt ;oD.
Nevertheless both are absolutely superb examples of the breed.

All of these kittens are very sweet natured, gentle and playful, Candy (not featured) has been scooped up as a top quality pet, Goldie (also not featured) is off to far flung shores to embark on a Show Breeding Career...Wyatt is staying here at Totallycoastal, to carry on from his daddy Rider, his tail at this time is a little longer than I'd like for showing, but has everything else we'd want in a stud boy.  Finally the leading man, Nicky is available for a show breeder home and has an absolutely perfect length tail, to go along with his perfect everything else.

Award Update - EW BOB Pixiebob Kitten 2012-13!

Totallycoastal Ghostship (aka Boo) was awarded Best of Breed Pixiebob Kitten of the Year for 2012-13 for the Europe West (EW) Region.
This is the consecutive Year we have taken this award.  Last years star was of course the gorgeous Linsey (TOTALLYCOASTAL HOOKLINENSINKER) http://ticamembers.org/standing/2012/PB/
Not a bad for a 1 day outing at the end of the show season, this Boy is such a strong kitten... way to go Boo.

Update - Monsters Inc.

The two boys in Shenona and Eds litter are a great winning duo.  The podgy one and the lanky quick off the mark one...  Laurel and Hardy, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, Hale and Pace etc.

Totallycoastal Ghostships (AKA Boo) is very interested in stuffing his face, sleeping and because of this I now call him Tubs because he is just a monsterious size and weight.  All the judges at the March show were pretty amazed that this 4 month and 1 day old boy was so big and heavy for his age. Which is OK for now while his a kitten it's not becoming a middle aged spread... but I feel I will have to keep that in check when his older.

His brother Totallycoastal Seamonsters (AKA Monsta) is very interested in being the centre of attention, being a total lap cat and having his days filled with non stop play...

Monsta loves his dinners and is growing to be big and strong too, but being the more sporty of the two he has bulked up his frame in a more muscular way...  We are looking for a home for Monsta, it will be a shame to seperate these partners in crime, but we cannot keep both.  We are convinced both these boys will end up being similar to Totallycoastal (Big Mac) Supersize Me, which is a full half brother to these kittens.

Monster excels in eye shape, and those superb puffy whisker pads.. he is also the more sociable of the two boys, and happily go sit with anyone that is willing to fuss and play with him.  His coat colour is slightly paler than his brothers and his tail a little shorter...  but other than this there is little else difference.

Boo has the longer bobtail of the two boys and his coat is a little darker in tone.  His eyes are not as shapely as his brothers but he brings a deeper chin... We decided to keep him, as we have girls that will balance out any of the traits Monsta excels in... but it was a really hard choice to make this decision.  I am totally torn between these two, and on different days I change my choice.

So if you think you can offer a suberb home for this complete purr machine, that loves to play and pour out his affections, please contact us.  He is really is of excellent type and temprement, and may be suitable for an established breeding program, or simply as a top quality pet.  We are confident of his type, and also offer an optional show guarantee with this boy kitten for those that would consider entering into the hobby of cat fancy.

Update - Swanley Kent 1st March TICA Show

We attended the first of three days at Swanley with one of our home bred kittens of 2012.  TOTALLYCOASTAL GHOSTSHIPS (AKA Boo) was born on 31st October, and was hand reared (along with his litter mates).  We were very keen to see how he would fair at an end of season show, up against some stiff UK and Mainland Europe competition, with already seasoned older kittens.

I am pleased to say that he was unphased by all the hustle and bustle, and behaved impeccably with everyone.  So all in all we were off to a good start, and that continued throughout the day and into the evening.  We scooped 3 finals out of 6 rings, being the 2nd Best Short haired Kitten amongst all the breeds that turned out, and a 5th and 8th Best Kitten against both long and short hair breeds.  I think that is a pretty amazing result for a kitten that just qualified to compete at 4 months and 1 day old.

So here a few photos to commemorate the day.

Update - Swanley Show Shoot 3rd - 4th March.

Our Linsey managed to get a few AB finals (a 10, 9 and 6) in 9 rings she was entered into over the Saturday and Sunday 3rd-4th March TICA Show.  I had to pull her after lunch on day 2 due to an upset tummy so we missed the last 3 rings of the second day.  Whether that was eating rich food; the excitement of the show, who knows.

Linsey was completely relaxed with the show, the hall, the people and all the other cats.. so our extra special efforts of taking her out on trips to public places paid off lots.  We were very proud of our girl, and the feedback we got from the judges.. we will of course be incorperating this girls stunning looks in our program.

We also tried out our new banner.  Which worked really well with the public and was light and easy to pack and put up, so this will be coming with us around future shows.  Linsey also won a few hearts and she climbed out her cage for a few photo sessions with the general public.   We are looking forward to receiving some of these photo shoots, and will of course post them as soon as they hit our mailbox.

We also captured this comedy moment of our girl on the Saturday, which I hope you'll also enjoy.
You'll need to play it a little larger than shown here to see what it's all about.

And this next video on Sunday morning, when she was just chilling in the her pen awaiting to be judged.

Update - The Two Titans

Honestly speaking, I don't think I've ever had such a large pair of kittens before.  Dylana and Neptune are topping my scales at almost 1lb each now and they are just two weeks old... they each weigh 14oz.  I think Big Mac is gonna have his work cut out staying the biggest boy I've ever bred.  Joe his son of almost a year is now equal to him.... and these 2 are unusually huge.

To top it all, as well as being unusually huge, they are also very nice typey babies.   I am hoping the boy will make it into a show home... obviously it's still to early to say how that face will come along.   But with Annie O and Big Mac in these kittens hertitage I am quietly confident that both faces will be nice.

This adoreable fluff ball below is Annie O's girl Totallycoastal Born From Waves (aka Dylana).  I can barely hold her in one hand because of her size and her wriggles.

Next up is the even bigger lump, Neptune..who I have a tough time keeping a grasp on.  His face already reminds me a lot of his relative Oceana  (Half Sister and Great Aunt rolled into one) when her eyes just openned.  We all know exactly  how great her face ended up being.

Oceana's dilute colour and her tail length prevented us from embarking on a show career with her.  Equally yummy Great Aunt Berry also has a face to die for and once again a tail too short to show.   So this time round, providing this line is true to form, we have a very big chance of Totallycoastal God OfThe Sea (aka Neptune) appearing in a show hall or three.

Update - Totallycoastal Jolly Roger @ 6m

Totallycoastal Joe Roger (aka Joe) is looking legger and divine in these latest photos.  We are hoping to get this boys line into a breeding program or at the very least a show home.

I think he'll be a stunning adult male, but as I've found out from personal experience you need to get them out as kittens even if you think they'll not flourish until an adult.

Joe has 3 months left in kitten class, which is more than enough to for him to adapt.  His a pretty laid back amiable kinda chap, loves toys and attention!  We have 2 possible placements but nothing definate yet. We need a concrete placement, as his starting to think impure thoughts which will make it difficult to house him for too much longer.

Joe will exceed his dads fantastic wild looks, because of that extra special Nebraska influence.  Mum is a virtually perfect (all but her tail length), spot on to the breed standard.  Big Mac has increased size and added a bit of wildness to that.

Update - Cat Show for Big Mac

Well the time has finally arrived. Big Mac Supersize Me did partake in the TickedTICA Cat Show, at the weekend in Swanley, Kent (17-18th September 2011). He had a lovely bath on Wednesday and his nails trimmed. His been having extra grooming sessions and made a fuss of, and been lapping up all the attention.

Off we went to the show... So how did he do?  He was on exhibition only on Saturday and by around 3pm he finally settled into that but up until that point he was just overloaded with lots of new things and felt very unsettled. We did later embark on a few meet and greet laps to see STRANGERS with me carrying him around, and he was OK with that too!

Sunday was supposed to be competition, but to be fair Mac hasn't had any exposure to showing in his life until now, and this was totally beyond his comfort zone and he hated it!  I did get some positive feedback from the judges about him making a fantastic stud cat, and it was a shame he didn't like the showing.

I then explained to each that a stud is exactly what Mac does and loves, and we have had some excellent kittens from him.  They are eager to see his kittens in a ring, and every one of them said, get them out early so they get used to the showing.  So if nothing else, that was positive.  So unfortunately we couldnt make any finals.

What we did achieve was actually all I could really hope for in a cat of his age.  He now tolerates motorway journeys, he now is comfortable with exhibition.  In fact so much so, on Sunday he was coming up to the cage and checking out all the passers by and giving them friendly greeting and rubbing up against the cage. Which was a huge transformation from Saturday morning.

I also noticed that the judges he tolerated best with were all women, and the ones he felt most uncomfortable with were men.  So seems Big Mac Supersize Me is a ladies man through and through.
